By accessing MapHist (hereinafter “we,” “us,” “our,” “MapHist,” or “http://www.maphist.nl/forum”), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms. These terms are necessary, in an open digital environment, to encourage the communication of ideas about the history of cartography without untoward distraction. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please neither access nor use MapHist. We may have to change these terms: if so, we will announce the changes on the forum well before they take effect; once the changes have taken effect, your continued use of MapHist indicates that you accept and agree to be bound by them.
Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “www.phpbb.com”, “phpBB Group”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “General Public License” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions, the phpBB Group are not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or sexually-orientated material, or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your own country, the country where MapHist is hosted, or of the international community. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, together with the notification of your Internet Service Provider if we deem it to be required. The IP addresses of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that MapHist has the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit. Users should be aware that, in contributing to MapHist, their contributions are stored in a publicly accessible database. Neither MapHist nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
