Good idea. The 'New Publications' forum is created.

Peter,

There is an issue here that could cause some confusion. If the post of a new publication clearly deals with a specific era (Renaissance, Enlightenment, etc.) do we post it there, or does everything go in "new publications"? If the latter were the case then somehow people have to understand that those temporal categories are only for material not related to new publications--hence just older works and discussions pertaining to the era. This could get quite confusing, although perhaps no problem if everyone knows to check both places.

Joel, I realised that after the first posts, were sent.

My idea was, new publications in the Announcements etc. forum, and discussions and questions in the 'History of Cartography' forum.

But I admit, it will be not always clear.

Let's leave it as it is for some time and see how it works.
