Earliest map showing Calgary, Alberta, Canada?

Postby Stephen Nagler » Sat 25 Feb 2012, 22:22

Can anyone on the list provide some information regarding the earliest map that includes mention of Calgary, Canada?
It was founded as a fort in 1875 and briefly known as Ft. Brisbois; the name was changed to Calgary around a year later.
The earliest I have seen is a mention of "Calgarry" on a map issued under the authority of the Canadian Department of the Interior in 1880.
I am curious whether "Brisbois" ever made it onto a map.
Thanks for any help that can be offered.
